Express journey through time

Over 125 years of German excellence

  • 1887 Foundation by Jean Fleischmann, production of tin toys for the next decade (ships, aeroplanes, magnetic maritime toys)
  • 1910 Participation in the World Exhibition in Brussels. The award of a gold medal reflects the high quality of the toys.
  • 1934 The product range is expanded continuously. Numerous toys for playing in the sand are added as well as two aeroplanes, including the famous DO X, and a metal construction set series.
  • 1938 Steam engines and the first model railway (models acquired from the company Doll & Co.), parallel development of the company’s own true-to-the-original railway models in 0 gauge.
  • 1949 Fleischmann is the first European manufacturer to bring out an 0-gauge two-rail DC model railway
  • 1952 Launch of the H0 gauge
  • 1967 First electronics in the model railway. “Prima-Lux” makes trains shine. The production portfolio is expanded to include the car racetrack “Monte Carlo Rally”.
  • 1968 Successful start of the N gauge (“piccolo”) with an industrial locomotive and three tipper wagons
  • 1981 World record. A Fleischmann locomotive runs in a window display for 2,299 km on its first engine (P.S. the loco still works perfectly today)
  • 1982 Launch of the “Profi-Gleis”, a new track system with sturdy ballast bed.
  • 1986 The FMZ multi-train control comes onto the market as the most modern computer technology of its time
  • 1999 The ICE-T is the first ICE in the branch to tilt prototypically into the bend.
  • 2000 The digital multi-train control with TWIN technology is a big hit with model railway fans
  • 2008 Fleischmann becomes part of the Modelleisenbahn Holding GmbH and together with Roco the most successful sibling pair in the model railway scene
  • 2012 Innovations: Z21 – control of a locomotive like a real driver, smartRail – on the spot driving experience.
  • 2013 The new ICE in the 407 series, the new flagship of German rail transport produced in the exact scale of 1:87
