For the series reconstruction of the popular V-160 family the DB ordered powerful AVCO Lycoming
T53-L13 turbines from the former Klöckner-Humbold-Deutz plant.
From 1970, these units were used in the locomotives which were redesigned to series 210.Quickly those locomotives (series number 210 001-008) were used for their intended regular routes. The star performance of that special locomotive certainly includes fast and express trains between the Bavarian capital Munich and Lindau.
Long awaited by our customers the 210 003-0 is the first model (article nr. 724210
) of the completely redesigned locomotive to arrive at our specialist dealers. It was particularly important to product management that the striking shape of the V160 family was also correctly implemented in 1:160 and luckily our designers were able to fulfill this wish and successfully implemented the locomotive body.
An optical highlight of the 210 series is of course the special roof design with the elongated hood of the gas turbine. When it comes to details we have chosen the way of perfect optic, but at the same time, operationalsecurity has been highlighted. Some of the handle bars (when at exposed places) have been separately plugged in.
The headlight of the analog version (article nr. 724210) can be switched off completely or partially with a DIP switch.
The digital sound version (article nr. 724290) comes with elaborately designed sound of series 210.
The distinctive sound of the gas turbine can be switched on if requiered just like the prototype.
The ideal addition to the locomotives is the redesign of the UIC wagons in pop paint (881908
