The class 139 was a multi-purpose locomotive and used for both freight and passenger services.
The best performance of the locomotives was the transport of the InterRegio 2216/2217 "Höllental" on the correspondent Höllentalbahn in the Black Forest.
During the founding phase, Deutsche Bahn AG also introduced a new livery which was applied to many locomotives.
However, some locomotives retained for several years their classic livery, which they had already received at the time of the German Federal Railways.
One of such locomotives is the prototype of the 139 314-9 (733102
), which still has an attractive ocean-blue-beige livery, but already features DB-AG logos. The setting of the locomotive can be ideally reproduced with our Interregio cars (art. no. 817602
). On our detailed photos you can get an idea of the ocean blue-beige beauty.
