New construction in the "Edition Freilassing“ series

Pilot production of the new ROCO electric locomotive of the series 144.5 has been completed successfully – and the first pictures of the model are already available!

ROCO's model of the 144 507 is a completely  new construction that reproduces the operational state of the 1970s and convinces with a number of technical highlights:

•    Two delicate type SBS 10/54 pantographs without visible fixation
•    Especially elaborate construction of the bogies, for a perfect "airy“ appearance
•    Separately attached wipers ensure the highest level of detail
•    Wheelsets with low flanges for best running characteristics
•    Precisely engraved, true-to-scale execution of all details of the body

The series E 44.1, later named E 44.5, was developed based on an enhancement of the E 75 and proved its worth for decades on the challenging mountain railway line Salzburg – Freilassing – Berchtesgaden. Even during the summer timetable of 1979, the machines still hauled the  IC 511 "Chiemgau“ – a proof of their capability and reliability.
This extraordinary model of the IC 511 will be available from ROCO for H0 scale layouts (Art. No. 6200154). A set of coaches that no fan should miss: the Avmz 111 included in the set is an absolutely unique item, as it was used for a long time as the prototype for new air conditions.

"Edition Freilassing" – a tribute to history
Selected models from the traditional Freilassing railway depot are reproduced under the "Edition Freilassing“ label. As early as 1905, the first steam locomotives moved into the engine shed. Later, one of the most important electric locomotive works in the south of Germany developed here. ROCO, too, has close ties to Freilassing, since the company's first German sales office was located there.
Look forward to this extraordinary model – the detailed and authentic reproduction of a piece of technical history!
Please note that the pictures show the first samples and not the final version of the product.
