Ab 2014 wird es einen duchgehenden Railjetverkehr zwischen Prag und Wien bzw. Graz geben. Für dieses Gemeinschaftsprojekt der CD und der ÖBB werden Lokomotiven der Reihe 1216 herangezogen. Die 1216 229 ist seit Anfang April 2013 als Werbeträger für die neue Railjetstrecke in Österreich und Tschechien im Einsatz.
