On May 20 2005 the ÖBB locomotive 1116 246-8 with its exclusive special design was presented on the occasion of the "50 year Anniversary of the Austrian Armed Forces" by the Austrian Armed Forces and ROCO in Salzburg for the first time. It was also christened and put into operation. The special design was created by the renomated artist Gudrun Geiblinger.

The model is equipped with a plug-in interface according to NEM 651 standards. Light changes with the direction of travel.
