Die ÖBB-Lokomotive 1116 246-8 wurde am 20. Mai 2005 in Salzburg im exklusiven Sonderdesign zum Anlass "Jubiläumsjahr 2005 - 50 Jahre Bundesheer" gemeinsam durch ÖBB, Bundesheer und ROCO präsentiert, getauft und in den Fahrbetrieb gestellt. Das Design stammte von der renommierten Künstlerin Gudrun Geiblinger.
